In an interview, Camp Extension Officers s expressed the need for the option on extension service improvement which envisages the repackaging of agricultural information, programs and knowledge for small scale famers especially through programs aired in local languages.

Farming should be seen as a business if it were to attract the low numbers of students entering Universities to study Agriculture.

“Our vision for the farmer is to be seen as business men. We need our farmers to become agri processors. Smallholder and commercial farmers need different type of extension,” said Zane Sharon Peters, Permanent Secretary, Minister of Agriculture, lands Environment and Housing, Antigua and Barbuda.
